Entrepreneurs, SMEs with innovations in information communication Technology (ICT), digital developments, science, life science, medical devices, advanced engineering, businesses wishing to patent an idea, businesses seeking finance for new concepts and developments. Is investment from The Liverpool Seed Fund a loan or venture capital? Many very early stage businesses are not in a position to make repayments on a loan. The Liverpool Seed Fund provides investments that are equity based and designed to provide the concept or business with the capital it needs to develop on appropriate terms. The terms of these investments will reflect the potential of the concept, technology or innovation and also the level of risk involved. When might seed funding be appropriate? The Liverpool Seed Fund invests in ideas, concepts, intellectual property, technology and innovations that show genuine commercial potential but need finance and support to develop further. Are there any restrictions? The Liverpool Seed Fund was primarily set up to invest in high growth start up and early stage businesses but there are very few restrictions on sectors. You must be based in or be prepared to relocate to Merseyside.
