| J2 Aircraft Dynamics is Liverpool winner at European i-tech event June 20 2008 ![]() I-tech partners, a collaborative innovation e-services conference which took place in Liverpool on 3 and 4 June awarded Liverpool Seed Fund investee J2 Aircraft Dynamics, best presentation in the visualisation/ web services category. Liverpool Ventures a subsidiary of Alliance Fund Managers Merseyside Special Investment Fund and their clients used the event to build collaborations and business opportunities throughout the technology innovation chain. I-Tech was partnered by AiMeS (Advanced Internet and Emergent Systems) part of the University of Liverpool. ‘Professor Dennis Kehoe, Chief Executive of AiMeS said ‘The i-Techpartner event was an important international forum for entrepreneurs, technologists, venture capitalists and technology transfer specialists within the digital sector to interact and to network, both physically and virtually. Bringing together people who understand the technology with entrepreneurs who can identify the business opportunities with corporate financiers who can make those opportunities happen and to do this across 15 European regions helps to lever the potential of the European digital technology marketplace. It was particularly pleasing to see this happening in Liverpool and a reflection of the maturing technology funding marketplace locally.’ Mark Fuller of Alliance Fund Managers MSIF and Malcolm Stewart, Steve Smith and Peter Leather of Liverpool Ventures were expert panel members and Malcolm Stewart addressing a plenary session on investment readiness who has seen many presentations from innovative companies said, ‘I was impressed by the strength of the presentations.’ This conference in Liverpool was of a calibre which often requires travel to Geneva, Barcelona or London. Jake Bishop, Senior VP of J2 Aircraft Dynamics, winner in the visualisation/web services category said, ‘I received many constructive comments on future direction. It was good for gaining peer to peer support and comment which is very different form participating in a sales environment. The advice I received both from the panel and from other delegates was excellent. People came to find me. There were good avenues for funding.’ J2 Aircraft Dynamics develops software for aircraft design. Liverpool Ventures clients demonstrated their new developments in front of a panel of experts, researchers, investors and business people. Stephan Willigens of SLR Technology which creates asset management along the supply chain and has pioneered RFID track and trace in logistics said, ‘It was an excellent event to participate in and I made new contacts for our business and with potential investors whom I will continue to talk to.’ Liverpool Ventures companies presenting at the event were: Optic are, Host Telecom. SLR Technology and J2 Aircraft Dynamics. Other Innovative European companies in the mobile and e-services sector provided a view of the digital future where you check your home management whilst on holiday in Spain or within minutes of landing in a new city, arrange a site seeing tour and a business meeting with new contacts interested in your area of business.
