Liverpool Seed Fund News £7 million invested Valuable contribution to start up funding  Darren Gowling-Investment Director, Liverpool Seed Fund 2006 was a strong year for investments by the Liverpool Seed Fund and saw 20 new companies added to the existing portfolio. To date, the Fund has invested £7m into 33 businesses, with an additional £1m committed to those businesses as further tranches. This is a significant rate of investment, especially as the businesses are in the high risk area of new technology and fast growing markets. Darren Gowling, Investment Director, said: “Liverpool Seed Fund will continue investing in early stage, knowledge based businesses in Merseyside. So far we have invested across a range of technology sectors and we are interested in applications from knowledge based, IP rich companies and propositions targeting high growth, global markets with excellent commercial potential.
